Video CableThere is a high density 15pin D-Type SVGA connector on the back of the later iMacs but I have no idea why it doesn't work. OK, it works, but with smeary video. Maybe it would work if the other one was terminated. Anyway, the one I used was the internal connector on the bottom of the motherboard, shown below. Notice the yellow wire on pin 12, we'll get to that later in Chapter 83: Getting This Heap of Crap to Work.
As always, Mac does their own thing and we now have to mod a standard SVGA video cable (pillaged from an old monitor) to the Mac pinout. Here's the connector before the glue gun event. The real pinout thingies are detailed below.
